Research Overview

Clarks Fork Canyon, WY
ESTABLISHED WORK
Laramide Orogenesis (Active Research)
Geologic mapping, structural and stratigraphic analyses, basin analysis, and geo-/ thermochronology, to deduce Laramide tectonic processes and role of flat slab subduction.
Post-12 Ma LOCO Transtension (Active Research)
Timing and style of distributed inboard transtensional strain. Deciphering its connection to the eastern California shear zone and Stateline fault within the Pacific-North America plate boundary.
Fault Zone Characterization
Structural, mineralogical, and hydrologic analyses. Compare/contrast fault zones hosted in typical and atypical host rocks. Implications for fault processes, ore remobilization, and seismic hazards.
NEW / REVIVED WORK
Beartooth arch and Bighorn basin tectonics
